Our Farm & Story

The farmers kept the beef and opened a shop

Tubmill Creek Provisions exists because its owners wanted their neighbors to be able to buy the beef they raise. Their 850-acre Tubmill Creek Farms in New Florence, Pennsylvania supplies every cut in the Ligonier case, and the market around it carries food from other Western Pennsylvania producers.

How it started

From a trout creek to a storefront

Tubmill Creek Provisions was born from the desire to support local agriculture and to offer the community increased access to locally produced goods. As local beef producers ourselves, we have a strong commitment to our neighbors and area, providing them with quality meats, produce and other items produced right here in Western Pennsylvania.

The family behind Tubmill Creek Provisions has farmed for decades; the cattle came first as a passion and then as a vocation. In 2004 they bought the New Florence farm that Helen Hood Swatsworth and her husband Jerry had renamed after the trout creek running through it, and kept building the Limousin-Angus herd that had been started there.

By 2024 the herd had outgrown what wholesale channels could tell customers about it. So the family took a 1930s building on N. St. Clair Street in Ligonier and opened the doors on March 6, 2024 with a simple brief: sell our own beef, put a bakery and a coffee bar and a market of Western Pennsylvania food around it, and fill the gaps the town did not have.
